Description
              The    Association of Leaders and Micro-entrepreneurs is registered with the Department of Labor and Employment Region VII. Its main purpose is to encourage workers, both in the formal industrial organizations and self-employed individuals to evolve into leaders of workers and profitable micro-entrepreneurs.

ALAM  is founded in the principle of “pay forward” as a gesture of gratitude of the founders and officers to share their knowledge and skills as workers and self-employed individuals. The association is focused on education, sharing of knowledge and skills and self-help programs for beneficiaries.
It shall strive to link its technical resource to government programs and disseminate information and projects to beneficiaries and members.

Method of Operation:


        Conducts orientation, seminars and workshops on Communication, Working in a Team, Healthy Life Style, Organic and Natural Urban Farming, Entrepreneurship, Computer applications,   Machine Operations, Marine Engines operation and maintenance, Security and safety in Operations, Electrical and other industrial skills through tutorials, informal and formal training programs and actual applications in the work place and in own micro-enterprise.
        Officers of ALAM  recruit, screen and qualify potential beneficiaries of the different programs and projects and link for work improvement, self-employment and entrepreneurial   endeavors and assistance to deployment.
         It seeks grants from external sources to complement the imputed resources ( in kind), and  the financial costs of beneficiaries for  training and livelihood projects..

Vision, Mission, Goals and Quality Policy
Vision:      to be an effective partner in workers’ development, entrepreneurship, healthy lifestyle through technology application, agro-industrial skills training and livelihood endeavors with the end- in view to alleviate the effects of global warming and poverty.

Mission:   Develop leaders from the working class to achieve quality service, skill and entrepreneurial competencies, through moral, social and economic programs

Goals:  Link needs of beneficiaries to government and non-government institutions for assistance and development

Quality policy :      Healthy lifestyle among beneficiaries is a measure of performance and evaluation of beneficiaries undergoing an ALAM program.

Agreements:
  1. Transfer  the office from Room 9, 3rd floor Albulario Bldg.General Maxilum Avenue, Cebu City to Natalio Bacalso Highway, Kamagayan Lawaan, Talisay City  and at 753 Katipunan St. Tisa Cebu City as contact/ coordination  center
  2. Amend the Constitution of A.L.A.M.  to incorporate  Moral , Social and Economic well-being of members, mutual aid and protection of its officers, members and beneficiaries
  3. ALAM Ad Hoc Officers are replaced with regular officers/members
  4. Submit proposals to DOST, DepEd, TESDA
  5. Study possibility of co-location at DOST 7 Compound
  6. Link with ACES, Filipino Cebuano (SME)  Business Club
  7. Identify potential links to other countries for financial assistance to beneficiaries
  8. Membership in this association shall consist of the following:

1  Founding Members – are the initiators of ALAM
2. Officer Members     - believers, volunteers, action directed and resource- based in the achievement of the Vision, Mission and Goals of ALAM

 Honorary  Member(non-voting)
·         Any individual who has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of the micro-entrepreneurs and workers

Institutional Member(non-voting)

·         An institutional  member shall include firms, agencies institutions and organizations involved in education and training
  1. Set-up a website of A.L.A.M.
  2. Definition of Terms:
a.    Pay forward- an act or an  intent to repay people and organizations  that have contributed to the development of a person and do unto others and share what good things the person learned and acquired.
b.    Good moral value-  a personal view and action towards making good without necessarily be shown to others
c.    Good social life- creating goodwill, caring for people and family
d.    Good economic life – defined as self –sufficient and does own livelihood activities through developing entrepreneurial competencies
e.    Mutual aid – an effort to help each other in times of need in cash or kind
f.     Protection – Intra –organizational method of networking with proper agencies and authorities that beneficiary members be protected and cared for from sickness, environmental events and physical harm
 Rights and Privileges of officers and beneficiaries
a.    There shall always be 5  members of the board from the above listed  officers and the founders who shall create policy directions and assign individuals to perform specific tasks
b.    Beneficiaries are recipients of services with no voting rights and shall be focused on project implementation and feedback  for quality assurance
Financial Management
There are no financial transactions from the time of registration of A.L.A.M. until this date as the leaders focused on advocating its vision, mission and goals to prospective members and building up membership through meetings and personal visits.
  1. No collections were made as the organizers believe in volunteerism
  2. It is planned that with the available resources of the organizers and officers, A.L.A.M, will be able to partner with government agencies and Non-government organizations for grants and non-collateralized loans
  3. A.L.A.M.  is presently discussing with ACES Polytechnic College, a non- stock non –profit organization, for  partnership endeavors with DOST. The plan is for  
  4. ALAM to present proposals to DOST and utilize the financial processes of ACES as its representative in region VII, to facilitate recording, reporting and fund liquidation of grants.
Assets of ALAM

  1.              ALAM is a self-help organization where members are willing to share existing resources in the pursuit of the vision, mission and goals of the organization.
  2.               The list indicate  the pledges of members and officers to ensure the development of A.L.A.M.
  3. 1.    Use of a 50-square meter building and an open space of 2000 sq. meters,  along the Natalio Bacalso highway, Lawaan, Talisay City
  4. 2.    Use of 1 -hectare land in Minglanilla for organic agriculture
  5. 3.    Use of 600- square meter residential lot in Asturias, Cebu and 3,500 sq m in Lapulapu City
  6. 4.    Telephone facilities both landline and cell phones
  7. 5.    Laptop computers
  8. 6.    Car for project coordination
  9. 7.    Website for information sharing
  10. 8. Personal expense in support to the mission of ALAM at Php 5,000.00 per month
